ABOUT
I am a self-taught baker, based in the Greater Toronto Area. I was first introduced to baking by my grandmother as a child. During the holiday season, I would sit on the counter and pass her each ingredient as she made trays upon trays of shortbread, Nanaimo bars, and gingerbread cookies.
I studied International Development and History at the University of Guelph. While searching for a job after graduating, I started baking during my free time. Learning how to make a tart shell or trying a new cookie recipe became something I looked forward to each day.
I worked in the charity sector for two years prior to the pandemic. Like many others who turned to baking during the first covid lockdown, my newfound free time at home led me to practicing my piping skills and testing recipes. As friends and family began having socially distanced birthdays and celebrations, I started taking orders for cakes and cookies. From there, I built a clientele in the GTA looking for detailed cookies and flavourful buttercream cakes.
After spending so much time baking and decorating, I decided to pivot to a more creative industry. In September 2020, I went back to school for Graphic Design at Humber College. Since then, I have been working in communications, designing materials for print and digital and managing internal communications. I still find time to bake whenever I can, and I take on a a few cake orders each month for friends and family.
